Bruce Monroe Community Survey Documents

On February 12, 2014, ANC 1A unanimously approved a resolution establishing the formation of a task force (Bruce Monroe Working Group) to study potential long-term use(s) of the Bruce Monroe Site.  Located
at 3000 Georgia Ave NW Washington, DC 20010 (between Irving Street NW and Columbia Road NW), the 2.5 acre parcel was the site of the former Bruce Monroe Elementary School, which was closed and later demolished in 2010.  The community subsequently worked with the District government to make improvements to the site, and it is currently owned, managed and operated by the District of Columbia as a temporary park.  As part of its analysis, the Bruce Monroe Working Group conducted a month-long survey to get input from community members about desired uses for the site. The purpose of the survey and report is to better inform 1A Commissioners when making decisions related to long-term use of the site.
